Initiatives & Projects

A career defined not just by titles, but by measurable outcomes. Each initiative below represents real organizational transformation — from concept through execution, at enterprise scale.

2024 – 2025  |  DHL Group – US Express

US EHS Reporting System Deployment

End-to-end replacement and deployment of a national EHS reporting and recording platform across all US operations.

The project scope involved replacing a legacy Salesforce-based safety reporting and recording platform — itself a system I had previously designed and deployed. The previous system supported incident and accident reporting, RCA workflows, safety committee management, OSHA logs, BBS observations, environmental tracking, and safety training records, all feeding into business metrics, KPIs, and regulatory reports.

Phase 1 deployed incident reporting across all US locations with advanced integrations to Sedgwick and the organization's claims management systems — ensuring zero-gap continuity from injury event through final case closure.

Phase 2 delivered Safety Committee meeting functionality, inspections and audit modules, and migration of recorded safety trainings to a global platform. The final rollout components included electronic OSHA log production and the BBS Observation program. Throughout, I led multiple global and regional workstreams, contributing to a harmonized global system now operating across more than 200 countries.

Samsara Telematics + AI Camera Nationwide Deployment

Full fleet overhaul replacing a legacy telematics-only system with the Samsara Connected Operations platform — including AI cameras, HOS, and advanced safety analytics.

This project required a complete overhaul of fleet operations, management processes, and employee training methodology across the entire US courier and delivery fleet. A comprehensive change-management and transformation strategy was designed and executed to support this large-scale, multi-union rollout.

The deployment required negotiation and collaboration with multiple labor unions under diverse contractual frameworks, development of multilingual training materials, and incorporation of new terms into updated union agreements. The introduction of in-vehicle AI cameras fundamentally shifted the organization from a reactive safety posture to a proactive, prevention-focused model — enabling real-time coaching, incident prediction, and performance visibility never before possible.

At its final stages, the project encompassed IT and payroll integrations (including automated DOT Hours of Service compliance), executive leadership alignment, and frontline employee engagement at every level. The project is recognized externally — featured in Samsara's case studies and DHL's internal success stories — as a model for enterprise fleet safety transformation.

Courier Safe Driving Rodeo (Annual)

Designed and launched the organization's most celebrated frontline safety engagement program — now in its 10th consecutive year with nearly 1,000 annual participants.

The Courier Rodeo is an annual safe-driving competition open to all US drivers and couriers. As creator and lead project manager, I designed the full competition framework — criteria, scoring methodology, venue logistics, and participant guidelines — and have led its ongoing evolution for a decade.

Over a 16-week qualifying period, drivers are evaluated using on-road safety telematics data, written safety exams, defensive-driving assessments, MVR reviews, accident and incident history, and DVIR-based fleet scoring. The top 30 safest drivers nationwide advance to an in-person multi-day final. This stage includes direct on-road observation, live DVIR testing, trainer-level safety exams, and a precision vehicle maneuvering course. Winners are announced at a live awards ceremony.

The program has been widely recognized as the company's most successful and impactful frontline engagement initiative. It operated virtually during COVID without missing a year and has adapted formats and criteria consistently to remain fresh and competitive. Its direct impact on safety culture is measurable: locations with high Rodeo participation consistently outperform peers on safety KPIs.

OSHA & DOT Country SME Lead

End-to-end management of all regulatory agency interactions — OSHA, DOT, EPA, FEMA — from initial on-site arrival through final case closure across hundreds of resolved matters.

In the transportation, warehousing, and logistics industry, regulatory agency presence is routine. I serve as the first point of contact for every location the moment an agency arrives — managing complaint-driven inspections, National Emphasis Program (NEP) targeted inquiries, and post-serious-incident investigations from start to final closure notification.

Throughout my career, across multiple organizations, I have successfully resolved hundreds of OSHA and DOT cases. I am widely regarded as one of the strongest leaders in guiding operations through any regulatory scenario. My ability to prepare operations, coach leadership, manage agency relationships, and drive defensible documentation outcomes has protected organizations from significant financial and reputational exposure on countless occasions.

Onsite Occupational Health Clinic Development

Built a fully operational onsite urgent care clinic from concept to launch — including nurse practitioners, EMS partnerships, and a comprehensive medical records system.

From initial concept to full operational launch, I led the development of an onsite occupational health clinic for company employees. This initiative was delivered through extensive collaboration with internal partners and external agencies, creating a facility where medical procedures and occupational health services are performed by nurse practitioners and physicians.

The clinic was deliberately structured around an hourly pay model for medical staff — eliminating the productivity quotas and service caps typical in traditional healthcare settings. This ensures patients receive thorough, unrushed care rather than a transactional experience. We also partnered with local EMS authorities to reduce ambulance transport needs, keeping costs down and maintaining a higher standard of first-response capability on-site.

Beyond work-related occupational care, we incorporated first-opinion diagnostics for non-work concerns and healthy living consultations — transforming the clinic into one of the most valued employee benefits in the company. Medical documentation is maintained in the SYSTOC system to ensure full compliance with privacy requirements, medical standards, and company policy.

New Location Projects — Safety-by-Design

Comprehensive PMO-style leadership on new building builds, relocations, and facility upgrades — prioritizing safety design from ground-up planning through go-live.

I have led numerous location build-outs, relocations, and operational upgrade projects from initial planning through go-live. In each case, I directed multiple teams and workstreams with a singular philosophy: when a facility is designed and built around safety-driven decisions, it creates a work environment that inherently minimizes accidents and injuries before the first employee arrives.

These projects consistently incorporated pre-go-live hazard and risk assessments, safe work practices and directives, training programs, supervisory controls, and enforcement processes. My expertise spans conveyors, lifts, ball-decking, K-loader operations, sortation systems, spiral slides, robotic enhancements, mobile cart solutions, and high-traffic management areas including ramp and tarmac operations.

COVID-19 Crisis Management – US Operations

Core member of the US crisis management team — designing and executing nationwide workplace protocols as state regulations evolved in real time across a fully operational logistics network.

Beginning in January 2020, I served on the US crisis management team responsible for protecting a workforce that could not stop operating. This work required rapid development of comprehensive workplace protocols and procedures in response to an evolving, unprecedented pandemic environment. As states updated their regulations daily, our team actively monitored, managed, and executed the required changes across all locations and work classifications.

Responsibilities spanned sterilization protocols, quarantine procedures, return-to-work frameworks, work-from-home transitions for eligible roles, supervisor training, and cross-functional change management. The team was ultimately accountable for the safety of thousands of frontline workers who kept critical supply chains moving throughout the crisis.

Serious Incident & Fatality Investigations

Three decades of managing the most complex, high-stakes safety investigations — from multi-vehicle collisions and fatalities to depositions as corporate designee witness.

I have managed countless investigations involving serious accidents and injuries — including fatalities, multi-vehicle collisions, pedestrian incidents, loss-of-consciousness events, and other high-consequence scenarios. From initial response through final case closure, regardless of the agencies or legal proceedings involved, I have guided organizations through some of their most challenging and traumatic moments.

My expertise as both a subject matter expert and crisis manager enables me to drive thorough, accurate investigations and achieve sound, defensible outcomes. I have served multiple times as a corporate designee (Corp-C) witness, providing testimony on behalf of the organization in depositions and legal proceedings — representing the company's documentation, processes, and official understanding of complex events with clarity and credibility.
